FAIRFAX LIONS
On this Friday night the sky was clear and appeared to be the perfect championship football. The Chancellors of Chatsworth advancing to the Div II final by beating the Palisades Dolphins 35- 28. Across the field were the Fairfax Lions after beating Arleta 36-12, with Coach Shane Cox looking for a title that has evaded him during his tenure with the Lions.
Things would look promising for Chatsworth in the beginning as they would line up on the field with the eye of the tiger. Everyone would find out that, the “LION” is still the king of the jungle. On this night, senior standout Matt Bowen Jr would make sure his team was ready to play like they never played before.
With Bowen and teammate Terrance Hall rushing for over 350 yards combined the Lions were completely unstoppable. Chatsworth was never able to get in the game after scoring first. By the time Fairfax slowed down the score was 51 -7 and they would end this night as the Division II City Champions.
