Several more schools start the season off with the new feild turf in place and ready to be played on...
In the last week of league play the Comets of Westchester hosted the Fairfax Lions. This game would decide who was going to finish second in the Western league. With Venice holding on to first place the battle would be between these two teams. In a true barn burner the game would eventually be decided by turnovers and defense in the second half. Once the Comets figured out how to stop the Fairfax running attack of Eric Pugh and Marquis Smith they pretty much controlled the game from that point. In the end the Comets would win 31-21 and advance to the playoffs seeded higher than expected. This week they will travel to West Adams to play the Jaguars in a first round game.
