On Friday night the Hamilton Yankees would go to East Los Angeles college to try and make history for themselves. They would be playing the number 3 seed in the Invitational Championship after taking third place in the Western league conference. El Camino Real had an outstanding season going 9-1 taking second in the West Valley league behind Taft and had beaten last years champion the Arleta mustangs to get into this final.

Coach Kevin Williams would depend on the double wing t and the rushing of Rashon Harper and Kawan Rally along with the defense of Jervon Lucas. Coach Kelvin Moore would have his team playing run defense and passing all night, starting off with a pass play for a touchdown to Reggie Mitchell on the first play from scrimagge.

It appeared as though Hamilton was a little to fast and to big for the Conquistadors but that fact would not matter to Rashon Harper who would rush for over 200 yards and four touchdowns. In the end Hamilton would win a game where very little defense was played, by the score 67-42 to win their first Football Championship in school history. The Yankees received outstanding performances from several all city players including #2 Donnie Duncan, #3 Tremaine Love, #5 Conner Wilhelm and Quarterback Torey Whitfield. All Yankees old and young, should be very proud of their team.....
